What is the A&D EK-i Compact Balance?

A&D’s EK-i is a compact, digital lab balance that’s highly versatile and very easy to use – it’s also the bestselling A&D balance that we supply.

This digital balance features a hygienic and chemically-resistant stainless steel weighing pan for withstanding chemical and food testing experiments, while a unique triple-range weighing mode allows operators to conveniently change between standard precision to higher precision measurement for weighing tiny samples.

Smart parts counting and percentage weighing functionality makes this balance highly versatile in lab settings. Parts counting is often used for counting multiple, identical flasks and beakers, while percentage weighing allows chemicals and cosmetics to be combined and created in ratio amounts up to a total of 100%.

All EK models feature RS-232C as standard and are designed to meet weights and measures regulations of various countries. Models ending with "-EC" are EC Type Approved balances to Class II.

How to use the A&D EK-i Compact Balance

To use the EK-I, begin by placing the balance on a level surface, using the spirit level and adjustable feet if necessary. Next, turn the scale on using the power button. If it is the first time using the scale then it will need to be calibrated – for more information on calibrating your EK-I please see the manual. The scale is now ready to begin weighing.

The ‘mode’ button can be used to switch the weighing unit, whilst the ‘re-zero’ can be used to set the scale to zero.
