What is the Kern ABS-N Precision Analytical Balance?
The Kern ABS-N Precision Analytical Balance is a highly-precise laboratory weighing machine used to weigh tiny specimens and samples to a high level of precision, with a readability of 0.0001g. It is one of the most popular analytical balances from Kern and offers high quality performance alongside great value for money.
The weighing cell is fully automatic and manufactured from just one piece of material. The Kern ABS-N Precision Analytical Balance has a shock proof construction, and features a short stabilisation time capable of giving results within 3 seconds under laboratory conditions.
ABS-N balances have an easy-to-read LCD display and simple button operation. They feature a capacity tracker display which is an ascending bar graph and displays the current available weighing range, an identification number facility helps with GLP compliant tracking.
How do you use the Kern ABS Precision Analytical Balance?
Begin by placing your Kern ABS-N Precision Analytical Balance in an area free from draughts, excessive heat and vibrations (we recommend using the Adam AVT Anti-Vibration Table). Turn the balance on using the ‘On/Off’ key, giving at least 4 or 8 hours for the balance to warm up (Only ABS 80-4N takes 4 hours).
The ‘0/Tare’ key can be used to re-zero your scale if the display does not show ‘0.0000g’ at the start. Use the ‘Unit’ key to change units if required. A password can be set by pressing ‘Menu’, navigating to ‘Tools’, then ‘System‘, then ‘Password’, using the navigation buttons to change to numbers and the ‘Tare’ button to confirm.
The Kern ABS-N Precision Analytical Balance is rich in features, such as percentage determination, parts counting, checkweighing and much more. For any help with setting up or using any of these functions, please see the product user manual in the ‘files/downloads’ section.
