What is the Kern 440 Precision Balance?
Kern's 440 Precision Balance is an entry level basic model with simple to use functions, ideal for general science weighing applications. The 440 is small in size and practical for smaller spaces. Additional basic functions including counting and percentage weighing, along with the option of a 9V battery with up to 20 hours of life. An auto-power off feature can be used to preserve battery. There is also a RS-232 output for connecting to printers, PCs and networks.
The Kern 440 Precision Balance is easy to clean with a stainlesss steel weighing pan, and offers IP54 protection, allowing the balance to deal with any spills that might occur during weighing. For extra protection, the 440 also comes with a protective working cover included with delivery.
How to use the Kern 440 Precision Balance
Place the Kern 440 Precision Balance on a firm, level surface. Turn the balance on by pressing the ‘On/Off’ key, where the balance will first carry out a self-test before showing the weight display meaning weighing procedures can begin.
For weighing with a container, which may be useful for parts counting, the ‘Tare’ key can be used to zero the display. The Kern 440 Precision Balance has a pre pre-tare function, which stores the weight of a container even if the balance is switched off. To access, place your container on the weighing pan, press ‘Mode/Cal’ repeatedly until ‘PtArE’ flashes on display, then use ‘Set’ key to store.
For more information on how to set up and use percentage weighing and parts counting features, please see the user manual.
